Reflux and Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR)
What is Reflux?
Reflux is a digestive system disorder that occurs as a result of the backflow of stomach contents and stomach acid into the esophagus. The most common form is called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In GERD, typical complaints such as heartburn, burning sensation in the chest, and the arrival of bitter or sour water in the mouth are at the forefront. If reflux is not controlled for a long time, it can lead to irritation, ulcers, and a significant decrease in quality of life in the esophagus.
